Dear Reader,

September, to me, has always felt like a phase of transition. We shift from the jubilance of summer into the mellow, almost meditative yellow of fallen leaves. Crisp air thick with the scent of weathering trees. Here’s a bouquet of 4 poems that captures the Heart of September (and of Autumn) beautifully. At the end, there’s also a writing prompt to help you create your own beautiful Autumn poem.

“September Tomatoes” by Karina Borowicz

“And now It’s September” by Barbara Crooker
